Information we handle
When you browse the archive, our hosting services may process standard request, device, and security information. If you make a contribution, we may receive your name, email address, amount, frequency, payment status, receipt link, and the archive page that led you to support.
Payment credentials are entered on a secure hosted checkout. Held in Care does not receive or store full card numbers or card security codes.
How information is used
Information is used to operate and secure the site, confirm and reconcile contributions, administer monthly support, send requested acknowledgments, prevent duplicate processing, respond to concerns, and maintain the animal archive.
Services that help operate the site
Held in Care uses service providers for hosting, database and media storage, payment processing, and transactional email. They receive information only as needed to perform those functions and operate under their own security and privacy obligations.
Sharing and retention
Held in Care does not sell supporter information. Records are retained only as reasonably needed for archive operations, financial reconciliation, fraud and dispute prevention, legal obligations, and recovery of the service. Public animal stories never make private supporter or payment records public.

You may ask about information associated with you or request an appropriate correction or deletion. Some financial and security records may need to be retained. Use the direct Held in Care contact information shown on your payment receipt for privacy questions or requests.
